The East Africa Association of Grantmakers (EAAG) will host the 5th East Africa Philanthropy Conference, which is scheduled to take place on 15th-16th November 2017 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.
This year’s conference theme is Philanthropy collaborations: pulling together for better. The theme will explore new models, initiatives and best practices in philanthropy collaboration in East Africa and beyond.
The conference objectives include:
- Exploring new models of philanthropy collaboration (in learning, networking, strategic alignments and pooling funds).
- Generating strategies on the best way to organise as a sector to leverage on existing opportunities in philanthropy collaboration at the national, regional and global levels.
- Sharing success stories – to learn and share the value that the collaborations have had in achieving collective and individual organisational goals.
- Highlighting challenges and exploring opportunities for creating a better policy and legal framework for philanthropy collaborations at the national levels.
The annual conference provides an opportunity for networking and learning, attracting more than 200 participants drawn from CSR (corporate social responsibility) executives, foundation and trust leaders, government representatives, community philanthropy organisations, academia, philanthropy support networks and other development stakeholders within and beyond East Africa.
This will be an opportunity to learn how foundations, trusts and other philanthropy organisations are building relationships thoughtfully while collaborating to leverage their time, money and results.
The registration for the conference opened and the closing date is November 10 2017.
